Baripada: Three poachers who were recently released on bail after being arrested for poaching in Similipal forest attacked a forest guard (a member of Sabuja Bahini) of Podadiha Forest Range in Mayurbhanj district.
The incident occurred under the Kaptipada police station.
According to reports, four poachers were arrested eight months ago for poaching in Similipal. They were arrested during a raid where Bharat was also involved.
Two of them were released on bail a month ago. After their release, they allegedly started threatening the forest guard, warning him of dire consequences.
The poachers allegedly barged into Bharat’s house and brutally stabbed him with the help of a tester and misbehaved with his daughter. Bharat was seriously injured and was rushed to a hospital in Baripada for treatment.
Upon being informed, police reached the scene and began an investigation into it.
