Mayurbhanj: A team of Forest officials raided Jamukeswar village in Jashipur of Mayurbhanj district and nabbed five wildlife smugglers. Four elephant tusks were seized from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the Forest officials raided Jamukeswar village and recovered four elephant tusks from the possession of wildlife smugglers and seized them.
The team comprised an ACF, ROs, and personnel of Similipal South, Similipal North, and Rairangpur divisions of the Forest Department led by the Deputy Director Similipal South division.
Currently, the smugglers are being interrogated for further information and to ascertain whether they are poachers or traders of wildlife items.
While further investigation is underway, the identities of the arrested persons have not been revealed.
