**Bhawanipatna:** Sirish wood worth approximately Rs 35,000 were seized from the house of one Sundar Singh at Padepadar village in Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi district today during a joint operation by forest department officials and local police.
Acting on a tip off, officials from Jaipatna Forest Range and forest squad from Kalahandi South Division led by Assistant Conservator of Forests from Bhawanipatna Siba Prasad Rath, along with police personnel from Mahulpatna Police Out Post had raided the house of Sundar and seized 30 planks of Sirish wood from the spot.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the wood belonged to one Sashidhar Naik, who is a suspended school teacher. Both Sundar and Sashidhar were later arrested. However, Sashidhar claimed that he has been framed.
