Forest Personnel Arrest 3 Poachers; Seize Gun In Similipal Tiger Reserve

Baripada: Forest Department personnel arrested three poachers from the core area of the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday and seized a country-made gun from their possession.

The arrested poachers are Baigo Ho (52), Gansha Ho (36) and Gosha Ho (20), all residents of Telasakei village in Badakhman panchayat under Kaptipada police limits of Mayurbhanj district.

According to Samrat Goud, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Similipal Tiger Conservation Project (South Division), acting on a tip-off, they raided Telasakei village and arrested the three poachers. The poachers will be forwarded to court on Monday, he added.
