Bhubaneswar: Padmapur police arrested a forester on charges of attempting to rape a 12-year-old minor girl. The accused forester has been identified as Narasingha Satpathy.
According to reports, the victim happened to be the accused’s neighbour. The incident occurred on Friday when the victim was studying at her neighbour’s house. Satpathy, who worked as a forest officer in the Kenduguda forest section, allegedly lured the girl into his house and attempted to rape her.
Meanwhile, another girl who was with the minor victim informed the family members. The family members, along with some villagers, caught hold of Satpathy and handed him over to the Padmapur police.
Padmapur police have registered a case and started investigating the incident.
