**Bhubaneswar:** Former bureaucrat Dandanirodha Mishra passed away here on Monday night. He was suffering from cancer and undergoing treatment from quite some time. Mishra was 74.
Mishra, also a noted author is survived by his wife Usharani, son Subhra Ranjan and daughter Roopa. Speaking to OMMCOM NEWS, Subhra Ranjan said, “My father was hospitalised. He breathed his last at 3.10 am at a private hospital here.”
Mishra, son of Pandit Bhubaneswar Mishra, was born on 24th November 1943 in Kantilo of Nayagarh district. He had served 35 years with State Government and retired from service as the Secretary of Labour and ESI Department.
Mishra started his career as a bureaucrat after completing his education from Ravenshaw College and Utkal University. He served the Odisha government with distinction. Some of his important assignments included Labour Commissioner, Secretary of Board of Secondary Education and Managing Director of Odisha State Warehousing Corporation.
Dandanirodha’s wife Usharani was in Odisha Education Service while his son Subhranjan works with the Odisha Government as a consultant. His daughter Roopa is an IAS officer.
