Former Congress MLA Anshuman Mohanty Joins BJD

Bhubaneswar: Former Congress MLA and prominent youth leader in Kendrapara Anshuman Mohanty today joined Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday.

Mohanty along with his supporters embraced the conch party in the presence of senior party leaders including organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das, MP Manas Mangaraj, MLA Pratap Jena, and others at Sankha Bhawan, the BJD headquarters in Bhubaneswar.

While welcoming him to the party, BJD Organisational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das said that his joining would boost the party in Kendrapara district.

Mohanty had resigned from the Congress party two days ago. He also quit as president of the Kendrapara District Congress Committee.

The son of former State minister Nalini Kanta Mohanty, Ansuman was elected to Odisha Assembly from Rajnagar constituency in Kendrapara in 2014.
