Bhubaneswar: The Jeypore Special Vigilance Court today convicted and sentenced a former District Inspector of Schools of Rayagada Jagabandhu Dash to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for a period of 2 years and to pay a fine of Rs 50,000 for possession of disproportionate assets.
The court has further ordered that Dash will have to undergo RI for a further period of six months in default of payment of the fine.
A case was registered at the Koraput Vigilance Police Station on June 22 in 2012 under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988 against Dash for possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 15,39,979 to his known sources of income.
