Bhubaneswar: Former Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan was airlifted to Hyderabad from a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to illness.
After reaching Hyderabad, he was admitted to a private hospital for his advanced treatment, his son and Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed.
Harichandan has been ill for the past few days. Due to his advanced age, Biswabhushan has been facing various health issues, prompting his admission to a hospital in Bhubaneswar. As he required further treatment, the medical team shifted him to Hyderabad.
Notably, Harichandan was also hospitalised due to illness in September last year. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi visited him at the hospital while he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital and wished him a speedy recovery.
Senior BJP leader Biswabhushan Harichandan was appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh in 2019 and later transferred as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
In his active political career, he has been elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly five times and has also served as a minister during the coalition government.
