Bhawanipatna: Former Lok Sabha Member from Kalahandi constituency Subash Chandra Nayak breathed his last here on Sunday. He was 75. The former Congress veteran, Nayak suffered a massive cardiac arrest while he was at home, and succumed, reports stated.
Nayak was elected to Lok Sabha in 1991 from Kalahandi parliamentary constituency. He had defeated BJP’s Bikram Keshari Deo securing total 1,33,406 votes in the elections.
Prior to getting elected to the Parliament, Nayak worked as a journalist. After the end of his term in 1995, Nayak was actively involved in social work.
The late Leader is survived by two sons and a daughter. Two of his sons were present beside him, when Nayak breathed his last. The family said, his last rites will be performed at Swargadwar in Puri.
