Bhubaneswar: Former Kamakhyanagar MLA Prasanna Pattnaik died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday night. Pattnaik was 74.
He was the state’s first MLA from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Pattnaik, who represented the Kamakshanagar constituency three times as an MLA, was elected from the BJP twice and once from the Biju Janata Dal. He was known for his development-oriented work and was popular among the people of his constituency. His tireless efforts to uplift the underprivileged earned him a special place in the hearts of the people.
Leaders from across the political spectrum have expressed their condolences, acknowledging his immense contributions to the state’s development.
