**Puri: ** A murder bid was attempted on a former woman councillor of Puri Muncipality on Saturday night following which she has sustained bullet injuries and has been admitted at the District Headquarters Hospital here.
The injured woman has been identified as Satyabhama Behera. She is the former Councillor of Ward No 1, Baseli Sahi in Puri.
As per sources, the miscreants fired three rounds of bullets at her before fleeing from the spot. Satyabhama sustained two bullet injuries near her stomach.
Past enmity is believed to be the reason behind the attempt to murder.
