Malkangiri: Former Malkangiri MLA and BJP leader Aditya Madhi passed away today following a kidney disease. He was 50.
Madhi was admitted to AIMMS-Bhubaneswar for the last few days following kidney ailments. He was under treatment in Malkangiri for last few days. However, he was admitted to AIIMS after his health condition deteriorated. He died during treatment at 5 PM today.
Madhi had undergone a kidney transplant surgery earlier.
He was a resident of Radanpalli under Bapanpalli panchayat in Padia block of Malkangiri.
He had contested the Assembly election unsuccessfully from Malkangiri in 2009 and 2014 on BJP ticket. In 2019, he won the poll from the same constituency. Madhi had also held the position of State Executive member of the BJP.
The BJP had denied him a ticket in the recently concluded election citing health grounds. The party had replaced him with Narsingh Madkami.
