Bhubaneswar: Former Parliamentary Affairs Minister and senior BJD leader and MLA from Bhanjanagar Bikram Keshari Arukha is likely to be appointed as the new Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly.
Similarly, persons in the know of things have revealed that BJD MLA from Jagatsinghpur Prasanta Muduli is likely to be appointed as the Chief Whip and BJD MLA from Patnagarh Saroj Meher is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Whip.
Earlier in the day, the incumbent Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly and Digapahandi MLA Surjya Narayan Patro resigned from his post and submitted his resignation to Deputy Speaker Rajani Kant Singh.
All 20 Ministers of Naveen Patnaik’s Council of Ministers resigned from their respective posts today.
New Ministers are expected to take the oath of office at 11.45 AM tomorrow at a function to be held at the Convention Centre in the Lok Seba Bhawan.
