Bhubaneswar: Former Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda, who has been arrested in connection with Lawyer Pitabas Panda murder case, was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after complaining of chest pain inside jail.
Under tight security, Panda was first admitted to the medicine ward before being shifted to the surgery department. He also visited the dental OPD for consultation.
Panda claimed innocence, stating he was falsely implicated for political reasons. “I trust the judicial system, and Jagannath is with me,” he told reporters. Doctors confirmed Panda’s condition requires close monitoring, and security personnel are guarding the premises.
Panda’s supporters are demanding justice and questioning the investigation. The hospital is maintaining a strict vigil to prevent any untoward incident.
