Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Minister Ripunath Seth passed away at Barpali on Sunday. He was 67. Seth complained of uneasiness in the morning and was rushed to a private hospital in Barpali where he succumbed.
Seth, a Congress veteran served as a Minister in former Chief Minister JB Patnaik’s cabinet. He was elected to the assembly from Bijepur in 1995 on a Congress ticket.
A native of Barpali in Bargarh district, Seth held the School & Mass Education Minister, Energy and Sports portfolios during the Congress Government in Odisha from 1995 to 2000.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the death of Seth and expressed his sympathy for the bereaved family members. Senior political leaders from different parts of the State expressed their condolences on the demise of Seth.
