Baripada: The District Special Vigilance Court here today sentenced former police Sub Inspector (SI) of Baripada Sacchidananda Kisan to five years in jail after convicting him for taking a bribe of Rs 5000.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 15,000 on Kisan. The court further ruled that upon failure to pay the fine Kisan has to undergo imprisonment for another six months.
In 2018 Kisan was caught by the Vigilance while taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 to scrap a family dispute case.
