Bhubaneswar: BJP Cuttack district president and former Salepur MLA Prakash Chandra Behera has resigned from the primary membership of the BJP. Behera sent his resignation letter to BJP state president Manmohan Samal on Thursday.
Prakash Chandra Behera left the Congress and joined the BJP before the 2019 elections. He contested the Salepur Assembly seat on a BJP ticket that year but lost to BJD candidate Prashant Behera. In 2014, Prakash won the Salepur Assembly seat on a Congress ticket.
Talking to the media on Friday, Prakash Behera said, “After joining the BJP and becoming the party’s Cuttack district president, I have tried my best to strengthen the organisation. I tried to take the team forward but could not adjust with the team.”
