Jajpur: Three youths have been booked for thrashing a former Sarpanch, an elderly man, black and blue over political rivalry. The victim, Laxmidhar Sahu, the former Sarpanch of Kasapa, Panchayat in Dasrathpur block of Jajpur district was beaten by a gang of eight a few days back.
The thrashing was even recorded on a mobile camera and later circulated on social media. Police acted promptly in this case and have arrested three accused so far. Search is on to nab the rest, the police said. On the other hand, Sahu has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
