Angul: Former Sarpanch of Balaramprasad gram panchayat in Banarpal block of Angul district was murdered by some miscreants on Tuesday.
The deceased identified as Sibaram Sahu was offering prayers to the Sun outside his house today morning when he was attacked by the miscreants.
One of the accused reportedly forgot his helmet and slippers on the crime scene.
Political rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the attack. Meanwhile, police have initiated a probe to nab the culprits and ascertain the truth behind the murder.
