Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off, Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday intercepted Rohit Kumar Parida, former GM, TDCCOL (Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation Ltd), R. Udaygiri in Odisha’s Gajapati district, at Chandragiri while he was about to board a bus for Bhubaneswar and seized cash worth Rs 5.54 lakh from his possession. It is suspected that the money seized from Parida is ill-gotten, Vigilance said in a statement.
Parida, who is currently working on post-retirement re-engagement on a contractual basis, could not account for the cash satisfactorily.
Following the interception and seizure of the cash, Vigilance sleuths launched simultaneous searches at three locations of Parida from a disproportionate asset (DA) angle. He is being interrogated regarding the source of the funds.
