Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have arrested four persons in connection with an abduction and assault case that occurred on December 23 last year.
The accused, identified as Chandan Mallick, Pranab Nayak, and Tuku alias Sonu alias Rahul Nayak, were taken into custody from various locations in Bhubaneswar.
According to the police complaint filed by Akash Singh, the victim’s friend, the incident occurred when he and Rojalin Nayak were at Lumbini Vihar. After Akash’s scooter ran out of petrol, they went to a nearby petrol pump to refuel.
A group of three to four individuals arrived in a white car and attacked them with a sharp object, leaving Akash injured. The assailants then forcibly abducted Rojalin Nayak in their car.
The police have seized several items, including a white Maruti Swift LXi car, two blood-stained choppers, five mobile phones, and the victim’s iPhone.
Investigations revealed that the accused have prior criminal antecedents. Pranab Nayak has been involved in multiple cases pending in Capital police station.
Chandan Mallick and Sonu alias Rahul Nayak were involved in several cases which are under investigation.
