Four Criminals Injured In Police Encounter After Man Shot Dead In Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: Four criminals were injured in a police encounter at Madhupur forest near Rajpur village after a man was shot dead in Brajrajnagar town in Jharsuguda district last night. They have been identified as Ananta Dhal, Sailendra Patra, Niki Singh and Rafik Ansari.

Reportedly, Jharsuguda Police had sealed Brajrajnagar town last night to nab some culprits involved in the murder of one Sumit Ghosh who was shot dead inside an eatery. The four criminals were in an attempt to flee from the town and when confronted by police started firing at the cops in which Gandhi Chhak outpost in-charge Chudamani Mahananda was injured.

In retaliation police also fired on the criminals following which all the four were injured and rushed to Jharusuguda district headquarters hospital (DHH). Preliminary investigation revealed that the four were involved in the murder of Sumit.

As per sources, Sumit is the brother of hardcore criminal Sonu Ghosh who is undergoing jail term for the murder of one Amit Dhal, killed around four months back. Sumit was having food at the eatery Laxmi Cafe in Brajrajnagar when three rounds were fired at his head. Though he was rushed to a hospital at Mandalia, doctor declared him brought dead.
