Nuapada: Four persons died and two sustained critical injuries in a lightning strike mishap at the Mallikamunda area in the district today afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Tirtha Nag (60), his son Chudamani Nag (23), their relatives Gusagar Nag (15), and Laxman Nag (28). All of them belonged to Mallikamunda village in Deodara panchayat of Komana block.
The lightning struck them when they were carrying out construction work in the village. The injured, which included a woman, were immediately rushed to Komna hospital
Local police registered a case in this connection and sent the bodies for autopsy.
