Four Killed In Separate Lightning Incidents Across Odisha

**Bhubaneswar:** At least four persons were killed and three critically injured in separate lightning incidents across Odisha today.

An elderly woman was killed while her two grandchildren were critically injured in lightning at Bhupad village under Khunta police limits of Mayurbhanj district. The deceased was identified as Chitra Hembram (55) and the injured are Raghu (4) and Deula (5).

They were struck by lightning while returning home after taking a bath in the village pond. The injured children are undergoing treatment at Dukura Community Health Centre (CHC).

Likewise, another elderly woman was killed after being struck by lightning at Tentheipali village under Kudagaon panchayat in Athmallik block of Angul district. The deceased was identified as Tula Pradhan (52) wife of Gokul Pradhan of the village.

The incident occurred while Tula was working at a farm beside a river near the village.

Two persons including a CRPF Jawan were killed and one person was taken critical after being hit by lightning at Mathanpalla village under Titlagarh block of Bolangir district.

The deceased were identified as Manoranjan Mahakud and Nimaye Mahakud, while the identity of the injured is yet to be ascertained.

All three of them have came from Madanpur Rampur in Kalahandi district and were picnicking at the spot when the incident occurred.
