Angul/Bhubaneswar: Four people were killed in separate road mishaps in different districts of Odisha on Sunday.
In the first mishap, three people were killed in a collision between a bike and pickup van near Santarapur under Jarapada police station on National Highway 55 in Odisha’s Angul district.
According to reports, three youths of Kulei village were going towards Zarpada on a motorcycle when a pick-up van going towards Angul hit them. Sipu Pradhan, Sunil Sahu and Manas Behera of Kulei village died on the spot after the collision.
In the second road mishap, a youth died after his bike fell off a bridge in Champajhar village under Kirikichipala panchayat in the Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sudeep Kumar Mohanty, the only son of Shatrughana Mohanty.
According to sources, Saudeep was en route to Kirikichipala on his motorcycle to distribute wedding invitation cards. The mishap took place when Sudeep lost control of his motorcycle and fell off the bridge he was passing by. Sudeep sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Thakurmunda Community Health Centre (CHC) where the doctors declared him brought dead.
