**Malkangiri:** The police on Sunday arrested four Maoists from Elkanur forest area of Malkangiri district. It is suspected these four are part of the armed gang of naxals, who killed a tribal villager of Kurub village of Kalimela block earlier on October 6.
All four arrested are being questioned in relation with the murder of Dambaru Nayak, the local tribal, who was killed by a gang of around 20 armed Maoists in the same Kurub villlage as they suspected him to be a police informer, though the police refuse to accept that he was police informer.
Speaking to OMMCOM NEWS, Jagmohan Meena, SP, Malkangiri clarified that the motive behind the murder was to spread terror among the people in the rural areas, who have already rejected the Maoist ideology.
It may be recalled that Nayak’s body showed signs of torture when it was recovered from the nearby forest area on the village outskirts on October 7 and the police are questioning the arrested Maoists about the whereabouts of the other accused in the crime.
