**Bhubaneswar:** Four players from Odisha have been selected to be a part of the 34-member Core Group for the final National Camp before the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup scheduled to be held at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar from 28 November to 16 December 2018.
The selected players from the State are Shilanand Lakra, Birendra Lakra, Amit Rohidas and Suman Beck. While Shilanand has been selected in the team as a Forward player, the three others have been selected as Defenders.
Chief Coach Harendra Singh will be training the 34 National Campers for 23 days starting from November 1 following which he will pick up the final 18-member team for the World Cup.
The Indian team had trained in Bhubaneswar before the 5th Men’s Hero Asian Champions Trophy Muscat 2018, where they have been declared as the Joint Winners. They will again prepare for the World Cup here to get acclimatized to the conditions before they face South Africa on November 28.
Harendra is confident that the National Camp will give all the 34-members the chance to prove their mettle and book a place in the final squad.
