Balasore: Four members of a family, including two minors, were critically injured after a group of armed miscreants attacked their home in Naichanpur village under Khantapada police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Thursday night.
According to reports, Ramesh Mallick his wife Saraswati Mallich and their two sons Khagendra and Parsuram were sleeping in their room after dinner last night when 10 unidentified people barged into their house with bhujali, swords and other sharp weapons and attacked them brutally.
The reason for the attack is said to be past enmity.
On hearing screams, local villagers rushed to their house and rushed the four critically injured to Kantapada Hospital. However, as their condition deteriorated they were first shifted to Balasore Hospital and later to a medical facility in Cuttack.
The police have registered a case in this connection and launched a hunt for the miscreants.
