Bhubaneswar: Four persons were killed and three others were critically injured in two separate road accidents in Mayurbhanj district, on Saturday.
As per reports, the first incident occurred near Badadalima Chhak under Tiring Police Station limits. Three pedestrians were hit by a speeding truck, resulting in the death of one person on the spot. Two others suffered severe injuries. The road mishap took place when they were on their daily morning walk.
The same truck, reportedly driving recklessly, hit an auto-rickshaw five kilometres away at Bagbendra under Bahalda Police Station. Apart from the auto-rickshaw driver, a couple travelling in the vehicle died instantly, while their relative suffered critical injuries.
Upon being informed, police rushed the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment, seized the bodies and initiated an investigation into the incident.
