Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department has taken proactive measures to combat the rising cases of waterborne diarrhoea in some parts of Odisha. As per the instructions of Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Ashwathy S, four state-level teams have been sent to observe and support field-level activities.
These teams, comprising senior officers, experts, and advisors from the Health and Family Welfare Department, will visit affected areas to strengthen coordination among various departmental teams and ensure effective implementation of diarrhoea control measures. The teams are led by prominent members, including Joint Director Dr. Ashok Kumar Paik Roy, Advisor Dr. Kalloka Das, IRT Member Surjit Garabdu, Dr. Asit Kumar Mohanty, Dr. Prabhakar Sahu, and Advisor Anup.
The teams will focus on key areas such as purification of water sources, door-to-door campaigns, early detection and primary treatment of diarrhoea patients, distribution of medicines and halogen tablets and public awareness programs.
By inspecting these areas, the teams aim to provide necessary advice and support to make the diarrhoea control efforts more targeted and effective. The state and central governments are working jointly to eliminate water-borne diarrhoea, and these efforts are expected to yield positive results in the coming days.
