Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has finalised the security arrangements for President Droupadi Murmu’s upcoming visit to the state on November 27. A four-tier security cover will be put in place, with the Legislative Assembly premises being secured with a stringent security cordon.
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to address the inaugural winter session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly on November 27, marking the first-ever address by a President to any state Assembly.
According to reports, a four-tier security cover has been put in place, with 25 platoons of police force deployed to ensure the President’s safety. The Commissionerate Police has made arrangements for three-tier security, while the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) commandos and other security personnel will provide an additional layer of security.
The Biju Patnaik Airport, Raj Bhawan, and Odisha Legislative Assembly will be kept on high alert on November 27-28. Five DCP-ranked officers will be in charge of overall security, assisted by five ACPs, 20 Inspectors, and 30 other officers.
The traffic police have been directed to manage the traffic, and five platoons of police force will be deployed for route lining.
A rehearsal of the President’s cavalcade will be held on November 26, and the Bomb Squad and sniffer dogs will be used to check suspicious materials.
Besides, police have also made arrangements for crowd control and intelligence gathering to ensure a smooth and secure visit.
