Bhubaneswar: Four trains are not to halt at Korai railway station in Jajpur district of Odisha for the next five days due to evacuation of grounded wagons from the platform, informed the East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Tuesday.
The trains are 18038/18037 Jajpur Keonjhar Road-Bhadrak; 08454/08453 Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack Passenger Special; 08438/08437 Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack Passenger Special; and 08412/08411 Bhubaneswar-Balasore-Bhubaneswar Passenger Special.
It is pertinent to mention that at around 6.44 am on Monday, eight Wagons of a Goods Train from Dongoaposi (Jharkhand) moving towards Chhatrapur (Odisha) got derailed at Korai Railway Station.
Three persons died due to the mishap and four persons sustained injuries. The deceased were identified as Abujan Bibi (47), Parbati Bindhani (55), and Kandhei Bindhani (26). All the three belong to Jajpur district.
At around 6:30 pm in the evening yesterday, all derailed wagons were cleared from both the lines and the UP line was fit to run the train with speed restrictions at 23:40. Both the lines are now fit to resume normal train services.
