Bhubaneswar: In a horrendous incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Monday evening.
According to reports, the gruesome incident took place in the Kela slum under the Airfield police station limits of Bhubaneswar. The accused, identified as Ghaniya of the same slum, reportedly killed the minor girl by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon after outraging her modesty.
The child had been missing from home since 7.00 p.m. yesterday and not finding her anywhere, her family members launched a frantic search for the minor. After an hour’s search, she was found lying dead in a pool of blood inside a room in the village, local residents said.
On being informed, a team from Airfield police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. As the accused is said to be on the run after committing the heinous crime, police have launched a manhunt for Ghaniya.
