**Bhubaneswar: ** The fourth phase of the ongoing three-tier Panchayat polls in Odisha began on Sunday at polling booths across the State. It started from 7am and will continue till noon.
A total of 50, 61,974 people would exercise their voting power for the election of 1324 Panchayat Samiti members and 18,876 Ward Members in 162 Zilla Parishad (ZP) members spread across 65 blocks in 28 districts, barring Jharsuguda and Boudh.
The security measures have been beefed up in sensitive areas to avoid any untoward incidents. Security has been tightened in Maoist-hit districts.
Similar to the earlier phases of polling, the fourth phase of election will also continue till noon and after one hour’s break, counting will begin at 1 pm.
The fifth and final phase will be held on February 21.
