Bhubaneswar: French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain embarked on his maiden official visit to Odisha today. The visit focuses on enhancing ties between leading French and Odisha universities and boost French investments in smart city and renewable energy projects in the State.
Lenain called on MSME Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra and the two held discussions on enhancing bilateral relations on trade, finance and industrialisation. Odisha blue-economy, renewable energy and smart city operations were also discussed.
Mishra highlighted the prospects of developing Odisha’s tourism with a vast coastline. Odisha’s vast mineral reserves, human resource, and international airport has triggered Odisha’s development, he said.
“We are open to establish trade and commerce relations with all countries in the world. We can develop our relations with France and progress in these (aforementioned) sectors, significantly,” said Mishra.
Among others, Secretaries Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Sanjay Kumar Singh, R Raghu Prasad and IDCO MD, Nitin Jawale attended the meeting. They were joined by representatives from French companies that are active in Odisha in these sectors. The team will be visiting Puri, Konark, Bhubaneswar sea food park, Info Valley, XUB, Dhauligiri, and Udaygiri.
