Bhubaneswar: The likely formation of a low-pressure area over coastal Bangladesh and neighbourhood and is likely to result in a wet spell over the Odisha region, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its afternoon bulletin on Thursday.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level at 0830 IST on Thursday. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over coastal Bangladesh and neighbourhood during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over coastal west Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours.
