Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to witness another wet spell as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal under the influence of a fresh cyclonic circulation over the north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood on September 29.
As a result, several places in the state are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers during the ensuing week. The weather office has also issued yellow alerts for rain on Monday and Tuesday in some places of Odisha.
The weather forecast issued by the IMD in its midday bulletin is as below:
Day 1: (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.09.2023)
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of north Odisha and at a few places in south Odisha. Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Ganjam.
Day 2: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places in Odisha. Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, and Bargarh.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Odisha.
