Dhenkanal: Jagajita Dash from Dhenkanal district of Odisha has brought laurels for the district and the State by earning the 2nd Runner Up title at the Mission Dreams Miss India 2021 in Mumbai on 21st December 2021.
Daughter of a government servant Chittaranjan Dash and teacher Manjulata Pani, Jagajita, popularly known as Rishna, was a bright student and had also participated in various events during her school and college days.
After completing her B.Tech she started her career as a Software Engineer in Bengaluru and later moved to Noida. After the Covid-19 pandemic hit the nation, she came back to Bhubaneswar.
During the lockdown, she started acting in music videos. Later, she participated in the Mission Dreams Miss India 2021 contest. In total, there were five girls from Odisha who participated in the event.
Dhenkanal Collector Saroj Kumar Sethi said that Jagajita has been able to take the art and culture of Odisha to the national level. She aims to work for transgenders, deprived and downtrodden people, and old age persons. The district administration will support her in her future endeavours.
