**Bhubaneswar:** Protesting vehemently the spiralling price rise of essential commodities triggered by consistent price hike of petrol and diesel prices, ruling BJD’s Youth wing on Friday held dharnas and protest rallies across Odisha.
The party has held the BJP-ruled NDA government at Centre solely responsible for such a sorry state of affair for which the common man is suffering the most.
As per their programmes, dharnas and protest rallies were held at all the district headquarters, Rourkela ADM office apart from the Raj Bhawan in the capital city here.
The Biju Yuva Janata Dal also submitted a memorandum to the Governor.
On the other hand, PCC president Prasad Harichandan came down heavily on both the BJD-ruled state government and BJP-led NDA government at Centre.
He demanded that the state government should slash VAT levied on fuel to minimum 5 per cent so that the growing price rise could come under control.
