Fuel Stations Across State To Stay Closed Tomorrow For Odisha Bandh

Bhubaneswar: All petrol pumps across Odisha will remain closed on Thursday in anticipation of security issues due to the Odisha Bandh called by the Congress party.

Approximately 3,000 fuel stations, along with three depots, will shut down from 6 AM to 6 PM, according to Sasanka Sekhar Sahoo, president of the Petrol Dealers’ Association. He estimated potential losses of around Rs 100 crore due to the shutdown. The petrol stations will resume operations once the government provides security.

The Congress party has called for the bandh to protest the death of an FM college student who allegedly set herself ablaze following inaction on her sexual harassment complaint against a professor. Odisha Congress president Bhakta Charan Das stated that the bandh has garnered support from eight parties, including the Left, and aims to seek justice for the deceased student.
