Kandhamal: In a significant crackdown on illegal gambling, Kandhamal police apprehended 24 persons from four gambling dens across the district on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted coordinated raids under the jurisdiction of G. Udayagiri, Balliguda, Khajuripada, and Tikabali police stations. Four cases have been registered in connection with the raids.
During the operation, police seized cash totaling Rs 51,097, seven two-wheelers, 14 mobile phones, and several sets of playing cards from the gambling spots.
In the last 24 hours, Kandhamal Police conducted raids on illegal gambling dens and booked four gambling cases by apprehending total 24 accused persons. Total cash of ₹51,097, 07 no. of two-wheelers, 14 mobiles along with playing cards were seized from the spots.

The cases registered are as follows: G. Udayagiri police station case No. 201/2025, Balliguda police station case No. 317/2025, Khajuripada police station case No. 228/2025, and Tikabali police station case No. 221/2025.
Kandhamal police confirmed that legal proceedings are underway against those apprehended.
