Bhawanipatna: Solving the Bhawanipatna loot and murder case, the Kalahandi Police today arrested four individuals and seized guns and cash from them.
Briefing the media persons, Kalahandi SP Battula Gangadhar said, “On January 10 this year, the four individuals had kept an eye on a cotton farmer father-son duo who after selling their produce at Bhawanipatna were returning to Junagadh. They attacked the farmers at Banamalipur Chhak and looted Rs 6 lakh from them. In the attack, the son (Balabhadra Nayak) was killed and the father (Khiti Nayak) was critically injured.”

The case which had caught everybody’s attention was put on fast track and the arrests were made today. The police also seized Rs 1,30,000 in cash, in addition to guns and motorcycles.
The arrested dacoits are Umashankar Majhi, Rajendra Majhi, Laxmidhar Nayak and Samburu Sahu. All four hail from Kalahandi district and have been involved in several other cases, informed the police.
