Bhubaneswar: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and brutally assaulted by three youths in Rourkela. Uditnagar police have detained three accused in this connection.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s family, the girl was abducted by the three youths while she was roaming near Bisra Chowk in Rourkela. The miscreants allegedly confined her to a room for three days, where she was subjected to gang-rape consistently.
However, the victim managed to escape from the clutches of the accused and informed her family about the horrific ordeal. The family subsequently filed a complaint at the Uditnagar police station seeking action against the accused.
It is also learnt from sources that the boyfriend of the victim was also involved in the gang-rape along with two other miscreants.
Acting swiftly, the Uditnagar police detained all three accused in connection with the case. Questioning of the suspects was underway at the time of reporting. Both the accused and survivor will undergo medical tests today.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the police are investigating the matter further.
