Bhubaneswar: The official website of Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur has been restored after being reportedly hacked on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the university’s website was defaced with the Pakistani national flag and messages like ‘ISI Zindabad’ and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ were displayed on the homepage. The hacking was reportedly carried out by a Pakistani team, with an ID named ‘Overthrash13’ linked to the cyber attack.
Technical teams acted swiftly to restore the website, and officials are now examining the breach to understand how the hackers gained access to the system. Necessary steps are being taken to strengthen cybersecurity and prevent such incidents in the future.
The incident has sparked concern among students and the university administration, with the varsity administration reporting the matter to cyber police.
