**Bhubaneswar: ** Acting on the strong recommendation made by the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch, Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at five places for unraveling the allegedly unholy nexus of some State Government officials with arrested gangster Tito alias Syed Usman Ali of Kendrapara.
Vigilance sources informed that the simultaneous raids were continuing at Cuttack city, Kendarapara headquarters town, Garadapur and Derabish in Kendrapara district and Chandikhole in Jajpur district.
The raids were conducted mainly at the RTO and Tahsil offices, the sources added.
Notably, the STF of Odisha Crime Branch had asked the State Vigilance to probe into the alleged links of Government officials with notorious gangster Tito. The STF in this regard has provided a list of about 50 suspected Government officials.
Tito is now cooling heels behind the bars of Kendrapara’s Barimula Jail after being arrested recently by STF following an encounter in Chandikhole. Tito has already been grilled by STF in three phases on remand.
