Koraput: Padua police in Koraput district have seized 151 kg ganja estimated to be worth over Rs 5 lakh from a car carrying ‘press’ signage and bearing a vehicle registration number plate of Maharashtra.
Police have arrested two persons in this connection. The arrested persons who were occupants of the car are natives of Maharashtra.
According to the police, while police were conducting vehicle checks near Debata Chhak under Padua police limits, seven bags of ganja were found inside a car bearing a vehicle registration number plate of Maharashtra. The car having two occupants had a ‘press’ signage affixed on it.
“The seized ganja is estimated to be valued over Rs 5 lakh and was being smuggled out from Koraput district,” informed Nandapur Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sanjay Mohapatra.
