Ganjam Likely To Experience Thunderstorms In Next Few Hours: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast alert for Ganjam district, predicting light to moderate thunderstorms.

According to a nowcast warning issued by the IMD at 7:40 a.m., lightning and light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph will likely hit the district within the next two to three hours.

Residents are advised to monitor the weather closely and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. They are also recommended to move to safer places immediately during lightning strikes.

This alert is part of the IMD’s efforts to provide timely warnings to help mitigate the impact of severe weather conditions.
