Bhubaneswar: The cyber crime wing of Odisha police today arrested a youth from Ganjam for uploading original content of Odia movie RAM-starring Anubhav and Arindam on social media platforms.
The accused, identified as Sibaram Pradhan is a resident of Sundarpur near Chhatrapur of Ganjam.
The cyber police arrested the accused after producer-actor Arindam Roy lodged a complaint with the cyber police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under the Cyber Security Act.
He alleged that the content of the flick was uploaded on social media platforms without permission.
Arindam, the producer of the movie, had appealed to the viewers many times on social media to refrain from posting short clips of RAM on social media. He also warned of legal action against those who were involved in the illegal act.
The actor-producer also appealed to the fans to watch the movie in the theatre.
The film was directed by veteran director Ashok Pati.
