Bhubaneswar: One more beach in Odisha has secured the prestigious blue flag certification.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed on ‘X’ handle that Sunapur beach in Ganjam district has received the Blue Flag certification from Copenhagen-based Foundation for Environmental Education. The award will further boost the State tourism, Patnaik hoped.
“Glad to share that #Sunapur Beach in #Ganjam, one of the picturesque beaches of #Odisha has received the prestigious #BlueFlag certification from @FEEInt. This globally recognised eco-label, by ensuring stringent environmental standards, cleanliness, and tourist-friendly amenities will further boost tourism,” CM Patnaik posted on ‘X’.

Earlier in 2020, Puri’s golden beach bagged the coveted certification from FEE.
The State government is also making efforts to develop Haripur in Ganjam district, and Muhan, Niladri, and Jahania in Puri district to international standards for the coveted certification.
The amenities available at Blue Flag beaches will include seating arrangements, toilets, watch towers, and a solar lighting system.
